Salem City Solar Tender for 2.5 MW project development
The Salem City Municipal Corporation has issued a tender for 2.5 MW solar project development. The bid submission deadline is 03 November 2020.
Interested bidders are invited to submit applications for the implementation of a 2.5 MW (DC) grid-interactive ground solar project in the Chettichavadi district. The tender has been floated by the Salem City Municipal Corporation (SCMC) under the Salem Smart City Mission, initiative.
Submission Deadline & EMD:
The last date for bids submission is 03 November 2020. The submission of Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 1.45 million is to be made by the interested bidder.
Scope of Work:
The scope of the work involves activities that include the engineering, sourcing, supply, packing, transportation, storage, design, building, testing, installation, and commissioning of a solar project. Successful bidders will need to provide maintenance and operating services for five years.
Eligibility Criteria
As per the tender documents, participants are required to meet the following eligibility criteria to participate in the competitive bidding process for the Salem City Solar project tender:-
- The applicants must have conducted similar commissioning works for central or state governments, local bodies, or public sector companies of at least 1,5 MW capacity solar projects.
- At least 10 percent of the electrical or structural engineering, procurement, and construction work (EPC) of the overall project value must have been done by the bidders.
- Also, in at least three financial years, the applicant should have an estimated annual turnover of at least INR 70 million along with a positive net turnover of last or present financial years and must have exceeded INR 50 million in its photovoltaic division.
Under the Smart Cities Mission of the central government, a number of states have announced plans for sustainable urban growth through solar panels, net metering, and various infrastructural revamps.
According to various reports, there are more than 70 MW of solar tenders that have been issued under the Smart Cities Mission across various states during the last year.
