Tender issued to procure up to 224 MW of renewable power by Jindal Steel

Jindal Steel issued tender for procurement of up to 224MW of renewable power through Open Access. Deadline to submit bids is 30th Nov 2021.

In order to meet its additional power requirements due to the expansion of its plant capacity, Jindal Steel, Jajpur is seeking to procure 224 MW of renewable power (solar and non-solar) through the open access route.

Power will be procured from generators, state electricity boards, independent power producers, and traders who hold an interstate or intrastate trading license issued by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission or state electricity regulatory commissions.

The company has invited bids from the interested power generators / traders. As per tender details, a bidder must submit a bid for at least 80 MW.

Important Dates & Deposits: The deadline for bid submission is November 30, 2021. Tenders will be opened on December 5.

As an earnest money deposit, bidders will have to submit INR 10,000 per MW of the quoted bid. After being selected, the bidder must submit an amount of INR 200,000/MW/month for the duration of the contract.

Other Tender Details: The successful bidder is responsible for booking the transmission corridor to either the regional load dispatch center (RLDC) or state load dispatch center (SLDC). In order to obtain consent, the company must file the open access application on time with the nodal RLDCs or SLDCs and coordinate with them.

As per the approved open access on a monthly basis, Jindal Steel states that the successful bidder should ensure that the power schedule does not deviate by more than 15% of the contracted power.

If the deviation exceeds 15% of the contracted energy for which free access is granted every month, the successful bidder will have to compensate at the rate of INR 1 /kWh or the differential ex-bus rate for the power sourced from other sources, whichever is the greater amount.
