Tender for supply of 6,500 Poly-crystalline Solar Modules by REIL

REIL has floated tender inviting bids for the supply of 6,500 polycrystalline solar modules. The bid submission deadline is February 15, 2021


A tender for the supply of 6,500 polycrystalline solar modules has been floated by the Rajasthan Electronics India Limited (REIL), a joint venture of the central and Rajasthan state governments.

The bidding is open only for original module manufacturers from India. For small and medium enterprise suppliers, 20% of the tendered quantity has been reserved by the REIL.

Submission Deadline & Security Deposit:

As per the tender document, the bid submission deadline is 15 February 2021. The bidder with the lowest quote needs to make a security deposit of 10 lakhs.

Scope of Work:

The REIL seeks quotation from bidders’ for the supply of 6,500 polycrystalline solar modules. A manufacturing contract signed with the selected bidders for 72- cell polycrystalline solar modules in a 12×6 matrix ranging from 305W to 330W.

The validity of the contract will be until the year 2021. Within two months from the date of issue of the purchase order, the entire quantity of solar modules needs to be supplied by the winning bidder.

Other Tender Details & Specifications:

Although the tender document allows that solar cells could be manufactured domestically or can be procured from foreign manufacturers, but the modules need to be produced domestically by an Indian manufacturer, only.

The modules must have a warranty on factory faults for five and a half years. The modules must also be guaranteed a capacity of full watt output, which at the end of 10 years must not be less than 90% and at the end of 25 years 80%.

The minimum production capacity of 50 MW is expected from the manufacturer along with the requirement that he had produced and supplied at least 5MW of solar modules during the last fiscal year. Also, a successful and efficient operation of at least two years is needed on the part of the supplier.
