SECI to tender 1.95 MW of solar power plant in Lakshadweep with BESS facility
SECI has issued a notice  inviting tender for deployment of 1.95 MW solar power plant at four different locations in Lakshadweep islands with 2.15 MWh BESS.

The Solar Energy Corporation, India (SECI), has issued a Notice Inviting Tenders (NIT), for the deployment in the four different islands of the union territory of Lakshadweep of a 1.95 MW grid-connected solar power plant, with 2.15 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The projects will be developed in sub-projects of Agatti, Kavaratti, BangaRam and Thinnakara for solar projects and battery storage system. In the following table the project capacities have been mentioned.

A single bidder will be allocated to the entire project on the basis of the cumulative capacity price.

The scope of the project will include the Design, Engineering, Supply, Construction, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of the cumulative 1.95 MW of solar projects with associated battery storage systems.

Developers must also dismantle and demolish existing solar power plants at their site. Selected bidders must also provide 10 years comprehensive operation and maintenance of the plants from the date of successful commissioning.

The last bid deadline is 8 November 2019, and techno-commercial bids are scheduled to be opened on the same date. For October 10, 2019 a pre-bid meeting has been scheduled in order to address the issues raised by prospective bidders.

All bidders are required to submit the INR 39.31 lakhs Earnest money deposit along with their bids.

The selected developer has to complete the work on the 4 sub projects for a period of 6 to 12 months from the date of signing of the letter of award. The expected timeline depends on the project size and location.

SECI extended in July the bid deadline for installation of 20 MW of floating solar pv power plants with the 60 MWh BESS associated at Lakshadweep.

The tender work involves the commissioning of a 20 MW (AC) Floating solar pv power plant with a BESS of 60 MWh at 8 locations across the UT.
