SECI issues tender for 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects

SECI has invited bids for the setting up 1200 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects. Bids submission deadline is July 6, 2021


Under tariff-based competitive bidding, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited proposals for the construction of 1,200 megawatts (MW) ISTS-connected wind generating projects in India.

As per the document, the bids submission deadline is 6 July 2021.

Tender Details & Specifications:

The document specified that the projects will be built on a build-own-operate basis, with a total capacity of 1,200 MW, and SECI will engage in a 25-year power purchase agreement with the successful bidders. The power generated by these plants will be sold to Madhya Pradesh’s discoms, according to SECI.

According to the tender document, the bidder must submit a single bid with a minimum capacity of 50 MW and a maximum capacity of 1,200 MW, and the projects must be stated in multiples of 10 MW only.

A project with a capacity of 100 MW or less can be commissioned in a maximum of two sections, while those with a capacity of more than 100 MW should be commissioned in parts of at least 50 MW each, with the last portion serving as the balance capacity, according to the document.

The Scheduled Commissioning Date (SCD) for the project’s full capacity commissioning is 18 months from the PPA’s effective date. The maximum time allowed for commissioning full project capacity with liquidated damages is 270 days from the SCD.
