CEL tendered for 1,707 Solar Pumps under KUSUM scheme

CEL has issued tender inviting bids for grid-connected solar pumps under the PM KUSUM program’s component C, in the state of Rajasthan.


Under the part C of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) programme, the Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has invited tenders for 1,707 grid-connected solar pumps. The contract also includes comprehensive maintenance for a period of five years, on the part of the bidder.

The tenders have been floated for these solar pumps to be installed in the Jaipur Distribution Company (DISCOM) for Tonk-1 and Tonk-2 zones. As per the tender document, of these total pumps – 876 pumps are to be solarized in Tonk-1 Zone, whereas Tonk-2 would see solarisation of 831 pumps.

The number of solar pumps is subjected to increase/decrease by 50 percent depending upon the requirement by the DISCOM. While on the other hand, CEL would be supplying solar modules, at the centralized location in Rajasthan.

Submission Deadline & EMD:

The bid submission deadline for the interested bidders for Tonk-1 zone is September 18, 2020. On the other hand, for Tonk-2 zone the bid submission deadline is September 19, 2020.

Interested bidders are required to submit an amount of INR 10 lakh as the earnest money deposit (EMD) with their bids.

Scope of Work:

Under the scope of work, the selected bidder needs to undertake the designing, survey, supply, installation, testing and commissioning as well as comprehensive maintenance for 5 years of the distributed grid-connected Solar PV systems for solarisation of grid-connected agriculture consumers under the “Kusum Scheme – Component C (LOT-5).

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to engage in the bid process

  • The bidder can bid as a single bidder or as a consortium of up to two members.
  • In recent five years, the bidder should have had the experience of supplying, installing, and maintaining off-grid solar energy systems.
  • The work should have been carried out for any government agency, public sector enterprise, or co-operative company with at least INR 67 million in value.
  • For a consortium, the eligibility requirements should be met jointly by both parties.

The contract document also mentioned that the installation of solar pumps is to be completed within eight months from the date of the purchase order. Bids are to be submitted ONLINE Only.
