40 MW Solar O&M Tender issued by BHEL
BHEL issued a tender for 40 MW of solar projects operation and maintenance (O&M), the last date to submit bids is 30 October 2020.
Operation and maintenance (O&M) tenders for two solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 40 MW have been floated at Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL).
The first solar power project is 10 MW located in Charanka, Gujarat, for which, 10 years of operation and maintenance services are required.
While for the second 30 MW solar project, the O&M services requirement is for 10 years and 3 months. This project is of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) based in Manuguru, Telangana.
BHEL has re-tendered the Telangana project, inviting fresh bids. The project was initially floated, earlier in July this year.
Submission Deadline:
Bids submission last has been scheduled for October 30, 2020. The bids will open on the same day.
Earnest Money Deposit (EMD):
Bidders are required to submit a sum of INR 6.62 lakhs as the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) for the first tender of 10 MW in Gujarat. The estimated cost of O&M contract is INR 33.06 million.
While for the second tender of 30 MW in Telangana, interested bidders need to submit a sum of INR 1.28 million as the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD). The estimated cost of O&M contract is INR 63.89 million.
Eligibility Criteria:
Under eligibility requirements to participate in the competitive bidding process, the tender documents mention that the applicants must meet the following requirements:
Over the last seven years, the bidder should have done similar work. This could include –
- Three similar works, costing no less than 40 percent of the estimated cost, or
- Two similar projects costing no less than 50 percent, or
- One similar project costing no less than 80 percent of the total estimated value of this project.
Under financial criteria, the bidder in the previous three financial years should have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the estimated project values.
According to the tender paper, as a security deposit, the successful bidder will have to make a deposit of 5% of the work order.
