IOCL tenders for EPC of 2.75 MW Solar Power project at  Trichy

IOCL has issued a tender inviting bid for a 2.75 MW ground-mounted solar power project at its LPG bottling plant in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The interested bidders need to submit their bids latest by 22 September 2020.


The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has invited bids from developers for setting up of a 2.75 MW ground-mounted solar power project at its LPG bottling plant in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The proposed project is to be completed through an EPC Contractor on LSTK basis.

The power generated of this 2.75 MW solar project shall be used by IOCL for captive consumption at multiple locations across the state of Tamil Nadu through the Open Access Agreement and Energy Wheeling Agreement.

Submission Deadline & EMD:

The bid submission deadline for the interested bidders is September 22, 2020. While the commercial bids are proposed to be opened on the same date.

While on September 15, 2020, a pre-bid meeting has been scheduled to address the concerns of the bidders.

Bidders will need to submit an amount of INR 9.6 lakh as the earnest money deposit (EMD).

Scope of Work

Under the work scope, the selected bidders will be required to undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the grid-connected solar power project.

Also under the contract, the bidder is required to provide a comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the plant, for a period of 5 years from the commissioning date.

A period of 9 months has been provided for the commissioning of the project from the date handing over the site.

Other Criteria:

The warranty of the manufacturer for all the items purchased is to be provided to IOCL and should be valid for the whole liability duration for defects. Also, for each replacement item, the Manufacturer’s warranty should extend to the Owner and with validity for the original warranty duration.

While a minimum quality guarantee of 10 years and a performance guarantee of 25 years after the date of commissioning of the photovoltaic modules is required. On the other hand, for inverters / PCU’s a guarantee for 5 years from the date of commissioning should be there and SCADA should be guaranteed for a nominal duration of 5 years.
