KSEBL invites bids for 1.5 MW solar project in  Palakkad, Kerala

Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEBL) has issued tender for EPC of 1.5 MW of Solar Power Project in the Palakkad District of the Kerala state. The company has invited the qualified firms to submit their bids latest by  September 09, 2020.


The Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL) has issued tender with an expected value of INR 8.08 crore for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 1.5 MW grid-connected solar power projects in the state. The KSEBL has invited bids from the domestic contractors for this project that is to be developed in the Palakkad district of the Kerala state.

Submission Deadline:

The deadline for submission of applications is September 09, 2020. The pre-bid meeting would take place at Thiruvananthapuram on August 14, 2020.

Earnest Money Deposit:

An amount of INR 2 lakh will be required on the part of interested bidders as the earnest money deposit (EMD).

Scope of Work

Under work scope, the selected bidders will be required to undertake the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the contract for the setting up of 1.5 MW of solar power projects in the Palakkad district of Kerala. The project will be developed on the KSEBL land.

In addition, 5 years of operations and maintenance service must also be provided by the selected bidder from the date of commissioning of project. While the projects need to be set up by the selected bidder within a timeline of 6 months.

Kerala Solar Programme

The Government of Kerala initiated the “Soura” program to add 1 GW of solar energy projects to KSEBL’s existing capacity by 2022. The ventures will be initiated and conducted to meet the State’s renewable purchase obligation under the ‘Urja State Kerala Mission’.

The plan will require the construction of 500 MW of rooftop solar projects, 200 MW of ground-mounted solar projects, 100 MW of floating solar projects, 150 MW Solar parks, and 50 MW of canal top solar project in the state by 2022.
