Transmission system commissioned in Rajasthan by PGCIL
The commissioning of the transmission system will facilitate the transfer of renewable power from Rajasthan to different parts of the country.
As per statement released by the Power Ministry, on October 4, the state-run Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) commissioned the transmission system associated with the Rajasthan Solar Energy Zone (SEZ) Part-C. It was commissioned by PowerGrid Khetri Transmission System (PKTSL), a fully-owned subsidiary of PGCIL.
It release further noted that this project in Rajasthan, is one of the largest interstate tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB )projects.
The project involves a new 765 kV Sub-station at Khetri (Rajasthan) which connects the capital of the country in Jhatikara (Delhi) to the 765 kV double circuit transmission line and also connects Sikar (Rajasthan) via a double circuit transmission line 400 kV.
Through the commissioning of this transmission project, renewable power can be transferred from Rajasthan to different parts of the country. Also, the initiative will benefit households, industries, and businesses in Rajasthan, along with boosting the economic development of the nation as a whole.
In line with the Government of India’s vision of achieving 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030, it will enhance the transmission infrastructure to evacuate renewable energy, thereby reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Through the supply of quality and reliable green power for the entire country, charging for this important transmission project will improve ease of living and provide boost to infrastructure development activities.
