Solar power plant of 300 MW  commissioned by Tata Power Renewables in Gujarat

The 300 MW Dholera solar project of Tata Power will generate 774 million units of power annually, as per the official press release


Tata Power has announced the commissioning of a 300 megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Dholera, Gujaraton. The project has been executed by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tata Power Renewables Energy.

The 300MW solar power project entails monocrystalline PV modules and the installation spread across a total of 1320 acres divided into six different plots of 220 acres each. The project is expected to generate 774 million units of power annually, according to the official press release.

It will reduce carbon emissions by about 70,4340 billion tonnes annually, the release added.

“It is a moment of pride for Tata Power to commission a single-axis solar tracking system for India’s largest 300 MW solar project in Dholera, Gujarat, within the stipulated time period,” stated Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power.

According to the firm, this project would increase Tata Power’s operational renewable energy capacity to 3,400 MW, with solar accounting for 2,468 MW and wind accounting for 932 MW.

Tata Power currently has a total renewable energy capacity of 5,020 MW,  that includes 1,620 MW of renewable projects that are in various stages of development.
