NHPC floated an EPC tender for a 100 MW grid-connected solar project

NHPC floats tender inviting EPC contract bids for a 100 MW grid-connected solar project with an associated transmission system in Tamil Nadu.


NHPC Limited has floated a tender for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a ground-mounted grid-connected solar project in Tamil Nadu.

Bids are being solicited from EPC contractors for a 100 MW ground-mounted grid-connected solar project as well as an associated power evacuation system to be connected with a state transmission utility substation.

Upon receiving notification of the award, the successful bidder has 12 months to complete the project. Additionally, the successful bidder is responsible for operating and maintaining the project for ten years.

Important Dates: The deadline for online bids is October 6, and the deadline for offline bids is October 11. The pre-bid meeting will be held on September 6. The bid opening will take place on October 13.

Other Tender Details:  Participants must have completed a total of 40 MW of ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating solar projects on an EPC basis as contractors or developers. Of these, the bidders must have completed one project with a minimum capacity of 10MW at a single site.

A minimum turnover of INR 7 billion in the past three years is required of bidders. In three of the five years prior, their net worth must have been positive. Also, the successful bidders need to have a working capital of INR 800 million.

Bidders have to procure modules from vendors enlisted in the Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) for the project.

Recently, the NHPC also announced an EPC tender for a 100 MW floating solar power project along with the associated 220 kV transmission line in Odisha with an online bid submission deadline of October 7, 2021.
