EPC bids invited for 500 MW ISTS-connected solar project by NHPC

NHPC tenders for EPC contract bids for a 500 MW ISTS-connected solar power project in the state of Tamil Nadu.

NHPC Limited has floated a tender for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for an interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar project in Tamil Nadu.

Bids are being solicited from EPC contractors for a 500 MW ISTS-connected solar project to be developed in the state of Tamil Nadu. The offeror may quote any capacity with a minimum of 100 MW in one location and in multiples of 25 MW capacity. The successful bidder shall also be responsible for operating and maintaining the project for ten years.

Important Dates: The deadline for bids submission is October 5, 2021. The bid opening is scheduled to take place on October 12. The pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for September 3, 2021.

Other Tender Details: Bidders have to procure modules from vendors enlisted in the Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) for the project as approved by the MNRE.

Participants must have completed grid-connected solar projects with a total of 40 percent of the quoted capacity or higher on an EPC basis or as contractors or developers. Of these, the bidders must have completed one project with a minimum capacity of 10 percent of the quoted capacity, at a single site.

A minimum turnover of INR 700 crores in the past three years is required of bidders. In three of the five years prior, their net worth must have been positive. Also, the successful bidders need to have a working capital of INR 80 crores. The requirement will be in multiples of the turnover specified for bidders who quote more than 100 MW.

It is mandatory that the bidder prove that it owns or has leased at least half of the required land necessary to set up the quoted capacity of the solar power project. Calculation of the requirement should be based on 4.5 acres/MW.

Eligibility criteria for the bidders from other countries require that the applicant must be from a country that shares a land border with India and he must be registered with the appropriate authority. Local suppliers who qualify for Class-I status will receive preference in the bidding process.
