Vikram Solar unveiled Somera and Prexos series M10 modules

Vikram Solar has unveiled Somera and Prexos Series 10 modules using 144 half-cut cells based on the M10 (182mm) wafer size.

A PV module manufacturer in India has announced its module series 10 using 144 half-cut cells based on the M10 (182mm) wafer size.

Monofacial Somera series 10 modules are capable of pulling peak power of 550W while achieving a maximum efficiency of 21.33 percent. Bifacial Prexos series 10 modules offer peak power output up to 545W and a maximum efficiency of 21.13 percent.

Multibusbar, mono-crystalline PERC cells are used in both the Somera and Prexos series 10 modules. These have a temperature coefficient (of open-circuit voltage) of -0.27% per degree Celsius.

Even in partial shadow environments, Vikram Solar claims its Series 10 modules can deliver high performance.

Implementation of bypass diodes in split junction box series-parallel connections enables the modules to perform in partial shadow conditions.

Having more busbars reduces the PV module’s sensitivity to efficiency losses and increases its tolerance to microcracks. Multi-point contact on the cell reduces cell stress during module fabrication, improving the module’s field reliability.

Modules are designed for use in a wide range of PV installations, including residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
