The rooftop solar subsidy provision to expire on Aug 31, 2021
With effect from August 31, the Centre will no longer provide subsidies for rooftop solar projects with a capacity of up to 10 kilowatts.
From August 31, the Center will no longer provide subsidies for rooftop solar projects up to 10 kW.
In accordance with the existing policy, the Center provides 40% subsidies for projects with 3kw and 20% from 3kw to 10kw.
As chairman and managing director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Subodh Agarwal stated, “Each kilowatt generates four units of power, and the investment is recovered in four years due to the lower cost of solar energy.”
In addition, he said the solar roof projects have a lifetime of 25 years, allowing people to save a lot of money by opting for rooftop solar.
Also, he urged the public to take advantage of the scheme and build plants before the subsidies expire.
