Tata Power receives an order for a 110 MW solar project in Kerala

Tata Power has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from KSEBL to develop a 110 MW solar power project in the state of Kerala, informed by the company releasing an official statement.

As per the official statement, the company won this capability in a bid announced by KSEBL in September 2020. Though, Tata Power did not disclose any financial details regarding the project in the release.

The company also said that the energy produced would be supplied to KSBBL under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), valid for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commercial operating date.

The company will need to commission the project within 18 months from the date of execution of the PPA. Tata Power added that the plant is expected to generate around 274 million units (MU) of energy per year.

In the statement, Tata Power CEO & MD and Praveer Sinha said, “We are proud to announce that we have been awarded 110 MW Solar Project by KSEBL, and are thankful to the Government of Kerala and the officials at KSEBL for this opportunity. We are delighted to contribute towards the realization of our country’s commitment to clean and green energy through solar power generation.”

This latest win would increase Tata Power’s renewable capacity to 4 032 MW.
