Tata Power Solar has won a Letter of Award from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for construction of a 100MW solar PV power project with a 120MWh battery energy storage system.
According to the official press release, Chhattisgarh will be the location of the project. The project’s estimated value is around INR 945 crores and will be completed within 18 months.
The project work scope includes engineering, design, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning along with operation and maintenance.
Commenting on the contract win, Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD at Tata Power said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious order from SECI to build India’s largest utility-scale BESS project and solar EPC project. It’s Tata Power Solar’s second grid-scale solar plant with BESS, a testament to its expertise in solar energy project execution.”
According to the company, this contract win extends its portfolio of BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) offerings in the renewables segment.
At present, the utility-scale EPC order book of the company consists of around 4.4 GW of capacity, valued at about INR 9,000 crores.
