Sungrow launched its new modular inverter “1+X” at the WFE Summit 2022
Sungrow launched its new central inverter, “1+X” Modular Inverter at the World Future Energy Summit 2022 in Abu Dhabi.
Sungrow, a global supplier of inverters for renewable energy, launched its new central inverter, “1+X” Modular Inverter at the World Future Energy Summit 2022 event in Abu Dhabi.
Sungrow is promoting“1+X” Modular Inverter worldwide. A company statement claims it as the most innovative central inverter solution that is expected to lead the next generation central inverter category in large-scale utility solar plants.
Global sustainability and the transition to clean energy are at the forefront of the World Future Energy Summit. There are a number of global innovators, experts, entrepreneurs and investors meeting, networking, exchanging and trading at the event that is in full swing in Abu Dhabi. The 1+X Modular Inverter is undeniably one of the game-changing stars of this grand stage for global cleantech.
According to company, one word defines the cutting-edge technology of this product — “Modularization”. “1+X” inverter solutions feature modularity at the component, system, and inverter level. Thus, power plant design becomes more flexible and post O&M much easier with three-level modularization.
This huge product is unique due to its three-level modularity, which, according to the manufacturer, offers a range of advantages.
The “1+X” modular inverter features a single unit of 1.1 MW, but just like stacked building blocks, 8 units can be combined to make a maximum output of 8.8 MW. For their best demands, customers can choose from 1.1MW to 8.8MW.
In addition, system modularization allows PV module configurations to be more flexible. A maximum of two times DC/AC conversion is supported by the inverter. In addition to offering 42% more MPPT than traditional central inverters, the 1+X modular inverter features a wireless DC combiner that allows string-level management.
This combination of improved MPPT and improved management allows for higher electric generation. With this solution, DC/ESS interfaces can also be used to connect to energy storage systems, allowing future energy storage for customers.
Moreover, component modularization facilitates plug-and-play functions, reducing maintenance time from 6 hours to 2 hours. Since each inverter also works within one individual unit, if an inverter fails, it can be replaced directly by an onsite backup inverter.
Since its debut in China’s domestic market in March of 2021, Sungrow’s “1+X” Modular Inverter has quickly gained great popularity. Currently, Sungrow is supplying solar plants in China with an order of more than 500MW of this product.
The company is confident that after its release to the international market, the “1+X” Modular Inverter will begin its clean-power journey around the globe and meet the future energy needs with its flexibility, convenience, and simplicity.
