The inauguration of a 33/11kV 10 MVA substation was held in Nusso, Bandipora. This was under the IPDS scheme of the Government of India. A nodal agency for IPDS is Power Finance Corporation.
The inauguration ceremony is a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. As part of observing the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated..
The project was inaugurated by Shri Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary (Power), Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, MD- KPDCL, Dr Owais Ahmed, DC- Bandipora along with Shri RS Dhillon, CMD, PFC and Shri PK Singh, Director (Commercial) & Projects (Additional Charge) – PFC, who joined the ceremony through a virtual platform.
Senior dignitaries from PFC and RECPDCL (the project implementation agency) also attended the inauguration ceremony.
A cost of Rs 3.85 crore was approved for the substation. More than 2400 households in Nishat Bandipora, Baghi Bandipora, Nusso, Lankreshara, Papchan and the surrounding areas will benefit from the substation.
The substation will also enable a more consistent supply of electricity throughout the region. The substation will also ensure that the Ajar power station receives 450 Amps of electricity.
