Sterlite Power bags inter-state Transmission Project in Northeast
Sterlite Power won this INR 324 crores “Nangalbibra ─ Bongaigaon” inter-state power transmission project through tariff-based competitive bidding.
Sterlite Power, a leading private sector power transmission infrastructure developer, and solutions provider has bagged the Nangalbibra ─ Bongaigaon inter-state power transmission project worth INR 324 crores, through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) emerging as the L1 bidder.
The scope of project includes development of a new 220/132 kV substation at Nangalbibra and a 130 km long transmission line of 400 kV D/c connecting Bongaigaon at Assam to Nangalbibra, Meghalaya, over the Brahmaputra River.
In addition, the project will include a 20km of 132kV D/C line connecting Hatsinghmari in Assam to Ampati in Meghalaya.
With the use of technology and innovative solutions, Sterlite Power has developed a reputation for completing complex projects successfully. It has completed the NER-II project, an inter-state transmission scheme that spans the north-eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura.
A long-span river crossing across the Brahmaputra river will also be tackled by the company in light of its prior experience implementing river-crossing solutions across the Ganges River.
As a result of this win, Sterlite Power now owns a portfolio of 26 projects in India and Brazil, including projects currently under development and those that have been sold. The company focuses on integrating renewable energy sources into transmission grids.
