Statcon Energiaa solarised BPCL’s ambitious ‘Multi-Product Pipeline’ project

For the 355-kilometer-long Bina-Panki Pipeline, Statcon Energiaa has provided a full Renewable Energy solution that will contribute to the safety and sustainability of the pipeline.

Statcon Energiaa has successfully solarized the Bina-Panki Multi-Product Pipeline that was inaugurated by Hon. PM Modi on 28 December 2021. The pipeline that runs from Bina (Sagar, Madhya Pradesh) to Panki (Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh) a prestigious project of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

Bina-Panki multiproduct pipeline, which will be operated by BPCL, has been constructed at a cost of INR 1,524 crore, and it will serve the petroleum needs of three northern states. It is expected to be the main source of fuel supply in eastern Uttar Pradesh, contributing to the region’s social and economic development.

Throughout the pipeline, Statcon Energiaa designed and installed a total of 211.2 kWP ‘Hybrid Solar Solution’ – 19.2 kWP per SV Station. Stations of Sectionalised Valve (SV) are installed regularly along the pipeline to isolate each section in case of an emergency such as leakage of gas.

As part of the solution, the company provided indigenously manufactured Hybrid Solar Power Conditioning Units (PCU), which are grid-tied and have built-in battery storage. In case of power outages, these advanced bi-directional inverters provide seamless power (less than 10 milliseconds of changeover time). Each station features a battery bank with a capacity of 1200AH48V and its health is monitored.

As a native of Uttar Pradesh and a student there, Mr. Pranjal Pande, Director of Statcon Energiaa said, “I am proud to be associated with this project of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. This prestigious project gives the people of this state a chance to grow and flourish.” With our Honourable PM’s message at COP26 this year, we are striving to ensure a sustainable and clean future for all.”

“Thanking BPCL for providing this opportunity to serve our country in a big way,” Pranjal Pande added that “for the past 30 years, we have manufactured products that are vital to our nation’s energy requirements and we intend to continue doing so.”

In a similar manner to the Bina-Panki pipeline solar project, Statcon Energia has solarized several pipeline projects operated by GAIL (India) Ltd. Statcon Energiaa also has to its credit the implementation of an Island Solar Solution to solarise the world’s highest bottling plant by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) in Leh. Also commissioned by the company was India’s first solar court in Khunti, Jharkhand – also inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Statcon Energiaa has been the leading innovator in Power Electronics manufacturing in India having a market presence of more than 30 years. The company is well know for its critical renewable applications and for its ability to provide best-in-class products for the Indian Railways, the Power Utilities, Solar and the Defence industries.
