Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a company wholly owned by Tata Power, has announced the commissioning of the 100 MW solar power project at Raghanesda Solar Park, Gujarat.

The Raghanesda Solar Park in Gujarat has been commissioned by Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. A carbon emission reduction of 2,00,000 tonnes will occur every year with this installation.

An official statement said Raghanesda Solar Park is one of the country’s biggest solar parks, located in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat.

TPREL stated that in the first year of operation, this project is expected to generate 255 million units, which makes it another landmark project.

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has won the contract for the project. After adding 100 MW, TPREL’s total capacity will be 2,797 MW, of which 1,865 MW comes from solar and 932 MW from wind. A total of 1,234 MW of renewable energy projects are currently under implementation.

Praveer Sinha, CEO, and MD of Tata Power said, “We are glad to announce that TPREL has commissioned the 100MW project in Gujarat, one of the biggest solar parks in the country. We are committed to providing the country with the realisation of clean and green energy through solar power generation.”.

In spite of the challenges, the industry has faced due to COVID-19, the project was executed on time by TTPREL through Tata Power’s EPC arm Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, which had excellent project execution experience and capabilities.
