SJVN awarded EPC contract to TATA Power for 1000 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan
SJVN has issued LoA(Letter of Award) to Tata Power Solar for EPC of 1000Mw of Solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
SJVN, Chairman & Managing Director, Nand Lal Sharma, informed that M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Limited has been issued a LOA (Letter of Award) for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of 1000 MW Solar Power Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The commissioning of this Project is scheduled by May 2024 and is expected to reduce approximately 27,85,077 tonnes of carbon emission in 25 years.
The project is expected to generate 2454.55 MU electricity in the 1st year and approximately 56838.32 MU over its life period of 25 years. The composite cost for the construction & development of the project is estimated at INE 5491.89 Crore.
Furthermore, Nand Lal Sharma noted that this is the largest solar EPC contract awarded in India so far.
“This Project further consolidates our commitment to attaining the Government of India’s aim of 500 GW non-fossil energy capacity and reducing overall anticipated carbon emissions by one billion tonnes by 2030,” remarked Sh. Nand Lal Sharma. The recent securing of additional solar projects also paves the path for SJVN to meet its Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023, 25000 MW by 2030, and 50000 MW by 2040.”
The scope of this EPC Contract includes end to end delivery of the commissioned Solar Plant to SJVN. It will also include outright purchase of the land, power evacuation up to the ISTS substation, and three years of operation and maintenance of the PV Solar Plant.
Under the CPSE Scheme of the GOI, SJVN won the bid for this 1000 MW Solar Power Project.
The SJVN portfolio currently stands at approximately 31,000 MW. The company is engaged in generation of power through hydro, thermal, wind and solar resources, as well as has also expanded its business into transmission and trading of power.
