Siemens-Tata Power DDL partnership for Smart Metering Technologies

This implementation will allow the consumer to monitor their consumption in real-time and manage energy usage more effectively.

In a recent announcement, Siemens and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) announced they will partner to deploy smart meters for 200,000 meters in North Delhi.

By using the EnergyIP Meter Data Management System commissioned by Siemens, electricity meter data can be accurately gathered. Tata Power-DDL’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is an initiative toward modernizing the grid.

“We have been able to monitor critical functions of energy distribution in real-time using digital technologies, which has resulted in higher operational efficiency and productivity, and extremely helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic, ” said Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, TPDDL.

This implementation will allow the consumer to monitor their consumption in real-time and manage energy usage more effectively, as well as receive alerts for power outages and low power factor. It can facilitate faster outage management.
