Siemens Gamesa won a 302 MW of wind turbines supply order in India

Under this deal, Siemens Gamesa will install 84 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines for 302 MW wind power project in Karnataka, India. The company’s total 3.X platform orders in India have reached to 925 MW.

Siemens Gamesa has announced that the company has won an order to supply 302 megawatt (MW) of wind turbines to a wind project project of Ayana Renewable Power Six Private Limited.  Siemens Gamesa first partnered with the company in 2019 for its 300 MW solar farm in Rajasthan.

Under the current agreement, Siemens Gamesa will be installing 84 units of the SG 3.6-145 wind turbines for Ayana Renewable’s wind power project in Gadag district, Karnataka. From Siemens Gamesa’s manufacturing plants in India, these turbines will be delivered to the project that is scheduled for commissioning by 2023.

Total order intake for Siemens Gamesa 3.X in India has increased to 925 MW with this 302 MW deal.

Siemens Gamesa CEO India, Navin Dewaji said, “With this order, we enter the next phase of our growth in India. The turbine, SG 3.6-145, is specifically designed for Indian markets, so we are confident we will provide better value to our customers.”

This wind power project has been awarded to Ayana Renewable under the SECI ISTS Tranche X tender. Ayana Renewable will build the required infrastructure for the windfarm, which is planned in Karnataka. The company currently has 3 GW of renewable energy capacity under various stages of development and operation.
