SECI’s 1,200 MW wind auction featured Sembcorp, Adani, and ReNew as L-1 bidders

The lowest bidders in the auction of 1,200 MW wind power projects by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) were Green Infra Wind Energy, Renew Naveen Urja, Adani Renewables Holdings Fifteen, and Anupam Renewables.

SECI held an e-reverse auction on Thursday evening in which the companies Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd, Anupavam Renewables Private Ltd, and ReNew Naveen Urja Private Ltd quoted a tariff of INR 2.69 per unit. On the other hand, Adani Renewable Holding Fifteen Ltd offered a tariff of INR 2.70 per unit.

While the Adani Renewable Holding Fifteen Ltd had bid for 450 MW of capacity, the Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd bid for 180 MW, while ReNew Naveen Urja Private Ltd demanded 300 MW. Whereas, the Anupavam Renewables Private Ltd had bid for 150 MW.

In May this year, SECI published a tender for setting up 1,200 MW of wind power projects (Tranche-XI) in the country connected to the intrastate transmission network (ISTS).

The developers selected under this auction will sell the power they generate to the discoms in Madhya Pradesh, according to the tender documents.

Those buying power under the tender shall procure it through the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL), which is the authorized agent for signing the power purchase agreement on behalf of the MP Discoms.
