SECI tenders for 1070 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan under Tranche-3

SECI has issued tender for the development of 1070 MW of grid-connected solar projects in Rajasthan in Tranche-3 with the bids submission deadline of  August 31, 2020.


The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for selection of bidders under Tranche-3, for setting up of 1070 MW of grid-connected solar projects in Rajasthan on a build-on-operate (BOO) basis. The last date for the submission of bids for these projects is August 31, 2020.

Bidders are allowed to submit bids for a minimum of 10 MW and a maximum of 1,070 MW. Interested bidders would need to make an earnest money deposit (EMD) of INR 4 lakh per MW of quoted power capacity with their bids.

Evacuation of Power

The SECI has specified that projects must be connected at a voltage level of at least 33 kV to the closest substation of the STU (State Transmission Utility). The chosen solar developer must take up the responsibility of linking and interconnecting the project with the transmission network of the STU.

Commissioning Timeframe

In addition, it is stated that the financial closure of the projects should be received within 12 months of the signing of the PPA. While, within 18 months from the date of signature of PPA, the project should be commissioned. It may also be allowed to commission part of the project.

Other Requirements

SECI also added that only commercially developed and operational technologies would be promoted to reduce the risks of technology and to achieve timely project commissioning.

They also specified that cells and modules to be used in the project should be those that are specified in the approved list of models and manufacturers (ALMM) of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
