Panasonic Life Solutions India appoints Tetsuyasu Kawamoto as new MD

As new MD of Panasonic Life Solutions India, Tetsuyasu Kawamoto pledges to scale the organization and touch newer heights with intense Japanese Collaboration


Tetsuyasu Kawamoto was nominated Managing Director by Panasonic Life Solutions India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Panasonic Corporation.

In his new position, Kawamoto will be responsible for fostering synergies and growth of all Life Solutions firms, under the power group. This includes wiring equipment, switchgear, wires, cables & tapes and conduits, lighting, solar power, housing, and indoor air quality. He took over the reins from Vivek Sharma, who retired on 30 September 2020.

Tetsuyasu Kawamoto is an industry veteran and has decades of industry experience and has been part of the Panasonic and ECM Business since 1991. In his first stay in India, Kawamoto held the position of head of the Power Business Unit at PLSIND.

While during his second stay, he spent almost three years at PLSIND as a Joint Managing Director of manufacturing leading the company on world-class development of manufacturing and technological capabilities.

He has also played a very important role in developing capacity by committing PLSIND to invest in the establishment of a new production facility in the Sri City of Andhra Pradesh.

Kawamoto looks forward to another exciting journey in his new position as managing director of PLSIND, thanks to his deep knowledge of production and a strong liking towards sales and marketing.

On his appointment, Mr Tetsuyasu Kawamoto, Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India said, “Panasonic in India is one of the largest and successful Japanese and Indian collaborations that I have seen in my lifetime. He further added that “As a part of the new role, one of my key focus areas will be in lines with our company’s global vision, to make human life simpler, safer & comfortable, by enhancing the consumer experience for both our brands: Anchor and Panasonic, in the ECM Space.”
