NTPC is seeking bids for a 900 MW solar PV park development in Cuba from interested parties
NTPC has invited bids from developers for construction of 900 MW Solar PV park in the Republic of Cuba. In March 2022, the Request for Qualification (RFQ) process will begin.
To construct a solar PV park in Republic of Cuba, NTPC Ltd, the largest integrated energy producer in India invites developers to submit bids. The Request for Qualification (RFQ) process will begin in March 2022 and run through May 2022.
The Government of Cuba has chosen NTPC, a corporate partner of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), to implement a solar PV park of 900MW.
The NTPC and Union Electrica de Cuba (UNE) will be working together on the development of 900 MW of solar PV in Cuba.
Cuban government has reached out to ISA for support in implementing 900 MW solar PV parks in all 15 provinces of the country through its Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM).
Under ISA Program-6, NTPC will be supporting UNE and MINEM in the selection process and signing of project agreements, as well as overseeing project implementation and completion.
This 900 MW solar PV park project is a part of Cuba’s 2100 MW solar power project implementation target which is designed to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. An annual generation of 2400MWhr per MW is expected.
Republic of Cuba is an ISA member. ISA is a treaty-based organization that aims to advance the deployment of solar energy technologies. ISA has over 101 members, of which 80 have ratified the framework agreement for a MW solar PV project developer selection by an international competitive process.
