Lakshmi Mittal proposes an investment of INR 19,000 cr in Rajasthan

Global steel giant ArcelorMittal’s Chairman L N Mittal proposes an investment of INR 19,000 crore in Rajasthan to set up a 4,500 MW solar plant.


Global steel giant ArcelorMittal’s executive chairman L N Mittal met with Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot on Sunday. In the meeting, Mittal shared his interest in setting up a 4,500 MW solar plant with investing around INR 19,000 crore in the state.

He wanted to know the policies and incentives given to solar energy projects by the province. He applauded the schemes implemented by the state for investments and the ease of doing business measures in the state.

Gehlot also told Mittal about opportunities in the mining sector. In addition to offering very competitive incentives to investors under Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme-2019. The Chief Minister assured him that the state would extend support for any business venture he desired.

The additional chief secretary and chairman and managing director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Subodh Agarwal, secretary industries Ashutosh Pednekar and representatives of the HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd attended the meeting.

Mittal met the Chief Minister of Gujarat on Saturday, to discuss his investment plans of 1 lakh crores in the steel and renewable sectors.
