Kallam Transmission SPV is handed over by REC to IndiGrid firms’ consortium
Kallam Transmission Ltd (SPV) has been handed over to a consortium of infrastructure investment trust IndiGrid firms by RECPDCL, an arm of the state-run REC Ltd.
The REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has formally handed over Kallam Transmission Ltd to a consortium of IndiGrid firms.
The RECPECL is a subsidiary of state-owned REC Limited (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited). REC Limited is a Navratna company under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power.
The company statement states that RECPECL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, has handed over the ownership of the project-specific SPV on 28th Dec 2021, to the consortium of IndiGrid 1 Limited and IndiGrid 2 Limited.
Kallam Transmission Ltd (SPV) has been created for the purpose of building a transmission system for evacuating power from renewable energy projects in Maharashtra’s Osmanabad area (1 GW).
The consortium of IndiGrid 1 Limited and IndiGrid 2 Limited was announced as the winning bidder for the interstate transmission project. A tariff-based competitive bidding process (TBCB) was used to select the successful bidder.
India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) is an Indian infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) backed by KKR and Sterlite Power that was founded on October 21, 2016. The entity is registered with SEBI to own power transmission and renewable assets under the InvIT regulations.
