With Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), JSW Renew Energy has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the supply of 270 MW of its 810 MW wind capacity. With the signing of the PPA, the entire 810 MW awarded capacity is now tied up with SECI, according to a BSE filing by the company.

According to JSW Renew Energy Limited (JSWREL), it has finalized a power purchase agreement with SECI for the remaining 270 MW of the total capacity of 810 MW awarded to the company.

SECI has awarded JSW Future Energy Ltd (JSWFEL; formerly JSW Solar Ltd) a letter of award for a total blended wind capacity of 810 MW in September 2020. This was in relation to the SECI’s invitation for bids for 2,500 MW of ISTS-connected blended wind projects (Tranche-IX) on a tariff-based competitive basis.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of JSWFEL, JSWREL, signed a PPA with SECI in May 2021 for 540 MW of the total awarded capacity of 810 MW.

Approximately 30 percent of JSW’s capacity is generated by renewable sources. JSW Energy has a power generation capacity of 4,559 MW.

The company is constructing various renewable power projects to the tune of 2.5 GW through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, JSWFEL and JSW Hydro Energy Limited. The company has the vision to generate 20 GW of power, with 85 percent of it coming from renewable resources, by 2030.
