Infrastructure investment trust IndiGrid has announced that it has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (REC) to build a transmission system in Osmanabad, Maharashtra.
The transmission project will help evacuate power from renewable energy projects in the Osmanabad area of the state.
According to a statement released, under tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) this project will be carried out on a build, own, operate, and maintain (BOOM) contract for 35 years.
As part of the project, estimated at INR 170 crore, a 2 x 500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation will be built near Kallam, as well as 10 bays and an 18-kilometer LILO multi circuit line.
As for the duration of completion, the project will likely take 15-18 months to complete, as it is located in a plain topography of low risk.
On completion, this project will strengthen the transmission system in Maharashtra and allow renewable energy to be evacuated and integrated into the grid with greater ease.
