GreenShift opened up a new era in the field of clean energy and decarbonization

Offers zero-investment on rooftop solar installation along with Carbon Finance’ option to its customers to monetize carbon emission achievements. Additionally, the company plans to establish fast charging stations across multiple cities

The Mumbai-based company GreenShift Initiatives Private Limited (GIPL) has opened up new frontiers in clean energy and de-carbonization.

The company has developed a revolutionizing solar-as-a-service (SaaS), a zero-investment rooftop solar system, and fast electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. All major metro cities could benefit from the offering as it will be a game-changer in promoting green climate solutions. The offering will also offer monetization options for carbon emissions goals.

Solar power company GreenShift is the only one in India to offer its customers the opportunity to monetize carbon emission savings. As part of its climate-resilient strategy, the company offers carbon credits – an innovative ‘carbon finance’ solution to its customers – to facilitate de-carbonization and foster a long-term low-carbon future.

A monetary payment will be made to the owners of residential and commercial buildings, allowing them to monetize their carbon credits earned as a result of rooftop solar installations and a shift to electric mobility.

FAST EV CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE

GreenShift has further reinforced its approach to zero carbon emissions by planning to set up fast EV charging stations in multiple cities over the next 12 months. Phase-1 plans include setting up fast charging stations in major cities and extending out to tier-II cities. In phase-2, it will install fast EV charging hubs along national highways (NHs) and later expand to state highways.

We are different from other Capex schemes wherein the consumer owns the rooftop solar and EV charging system and invests upfront, explains Satinder Aggarwal, Founder & Managing Director, GIPL. Under the company’s zero-investment plan, consumers only pay for the green energy they generate and consume. While the solar panel installation and EV charging system will be installed, owned, and maintained by our company.

Further, he noted that customers can utilize the electricity generated under the net metering policy without having to worry about any related operations and maintenance. Accordingly, consumers pay the predetermined energy tariff, which is less than the prevailing electricity grid tariff.

The residential and commercial buildings are among the largest emitters of carbon dioxide after tail-pipe emissions from fuel-powered vehicles. The GreenShift service offers customers monetization of carbon credits – that has been specifically designed to accelerate the transition to a net-zero energy system, noted Satinder Aggarwal

Using the company’s best-in-class energy management platform, every residential and commercial building can obtain the benefits of carbon credits while streamlining the monetization process. Furthermore, it will promote a move away from polluting ICE vehicles to climate-friendly electric ones, he further added.

Elaborating on various benefits to residential and commercial real estate customers, Mr. Aggarwal said: “GreenShift invests and installs rooftop solar power solutions at a pre-approved location applying the latest technology, high industry standards and guarantees the performance of the plants. We supply power at lower rates on a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) basis. Our customers will be charged for units consumed as per the solar meter. The rooftop installations are fully financed by our company with no upfront cost of planning, designing, installation, and operation. Our service model frees up cash flow that one would otherwise have to spend on the project. We offer up to 25-years of comprehensive on-site warranty, remote monitoring to identify glitches and emergency response within a stipulated time period.”

Founded in 2019 – GreenShift Initiatives Private Limited (GIPL), headquartered in Navi Mumbai, is the brainchild of Mr. Satinder Aggarwal. The company is striding ahead as one of the leading solar-as-a-service (SaaS) conglomerates in India.

The company offers zero-investment on rooftop solar installation, fast electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and ‘carbon finance’ options to its customers to offset their carbon credits, and support de-carbonization across Indian metros.
