Greenko and Adani have partnered to utilize 6 GW of pumped hydro storage capacity.
As part of the agreement, Adani Group’s proposed industrial complex will receive up to 1 GW of power
On Monday, Adani Group and Greenko Group announced they have partnered to use long-duration hydro energy storage capacity in order to provide round-the-clock (RTC) energy to Adani Group’s Indian facilities.
Under the terms of the agreement, Adani Group’s projected industrial complex will receive a firm and dispatchable RE solution, as well as RTC power supply of up to 1 GW, making it the world’s first green industrial complex.
In accordance with the official press release, Greenko is offering 6 GWh of long-term hydro storage capacity that will come from its off-stream closed-loop pumped storage project currently under development in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Greenko’s installed capacity base includes 7.3 GW of solar, wind, and hydro generation technology over 100 projects and delivers more than 20 billion units of renewable energy per year.
Ahmedabad-based Adani Group has seven publicly-held companies with a market capitalization of over $100 billion.
