Central Electronics floats EPC Tender for setting up 200 Mw of solar power projects
The company plans to install Solar Power projects in the country with a capacity of between 2 MW and 10 MW for a total capacity of 200 MW.
An Expression of Interest (EoI) has been issued by the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Central Electronics Ltd (CEL) under the Ministry of Science and Technology for the development of solar power plants of 200 Megawatts in India.
The company plans to install ground-mounted solar power projects with a total capacity of 200 MW for systems with capacities varying between 2 and 10 megawatts. Engineers, procurement, and construction contractors (EPCs) are being invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI).
As part of this EOI, Central Electronics Limited is seeking to grow and execute the business of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Systems by engaging experienced EPC Contractors, it stated.
The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is September 14. In the future, eligible empaneled contractors may be considered for participation in subsequent tenders.
Under the Ministry of Science & Technology, CEL is part of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research. This company holds a pivotal position in the solar energy industry and the solar photovoltaic industry. In 1977, it developed India’s first solar PV cell and in 1978 it developed the first solar PV module.
Apart from solar cell and solar module manufacturing capabilities, the PSU offers system design, engineering manufacture, and support services. CEL exports solar products regularly to Europe, Africa, and Asia.
