Azure Power to set up 1700 MW renewable energy projects in Karnataka

Azure Power signs EoI with Karnataka government to develop 1700 Mw of solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy projects in the state..


Azure Power has signed an Expression of Interest with the government of Karnataka to develop a total of 1700 Mw renewable energy projects in the state.

According to the company’s press release, the renewable projects of 1700 Mw of cumulative capacity will include solar power, wind power and hybrid projects.

The total investment envisaged for these projects is estimated at be in tune of INR 13,300 crores by the company.

“The state of Karnataka has come out on top in adopting clean energy and has one of the highest renewable energy capacities in the country. Azure Power’s commitment to developing grid-scale renewable energy assets is strengthened by this EoI,” said Pawan Kumar Agrawal, company’s chief financial officer.
