Ather Energy signs MoU to set up 1000 fast EV charging stations in Karnataka

Ather Energy signs a MoU with ESCOM of Karnataka for setting of 1000 fast EV charging stations across the state.


Electric two wheeler manufacturer  Ather Energy to set up 1000 fast EV charging stations for electric two wheeler, across the state of Karnataka. 

In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ather Energy and Electric Supply Companies (ESCOMs) in Karnataka on Thursday in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

According to a CMO release, the ESCOMs would be responsible for providing all technical support and government agencies would coordinate to share their space for charging stations with them.

Ather Energy will provide electric two-wheeler vehicles with free charging, according to the release.

Tarun Mehta, Managing Director, CEO, and co-founder of Ather Energy, and Rajendra Cholan, Managing Director of BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited), signed the MoU.

Ather Energy, one of India’s leading EV makers, plans to expand its retail operations by entering new markets. The company has also invested heavily in the charging infrastructure in order to provide a holistic experience for its riders. By March 2023, the company also plans to open 150 Experience Centers in 100 cities.
