Gujarat invites bids for 4.5 MW of solar projects at thermal power plants

A tender for a total of 4.5 MW grid-connected solar projects has been invited by the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). Two solar power projects are to be implemented in the Jamnagar district.
The two projects include a 2.5 MW solar power project at Gandhinagar thermal power station and another 2 MW of solar power project at Sikka thermal power station. Costs for the projects are estimated at around INR 18 crores.
A project’s scope includes design, engineering, supply, procurement, and construction. The successful bidder will also be responsible for operating and maintaining the projects for ten years.
Important Dates and Deposits: Until September 13, 2021, bids can be submitted. On September 2, there will be a pre-bid meeting. There will be a requirement of INR 18 lakh towards earnest money deposit (EMD).
A performance bank guarantee of 10 percent of the contract value needs to be furnished by the bidder within 7 days of accepting the award letter.
Eligibility Criteria: In order to qualify for this contract, the company must have designed, supplied, and commissioned grid-connected solar with an aggregate capacity of at least 4 MW. Among these, at least 2.65 MW capacity of solar power must be installed and operating in India, with one project being no more than 1 MW.
Over the last three years, the bidders’ total turnover should be at least INR 16.2 crores. Additionally, their net worth must have been positive during the last financial year.
As prescribed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61215 and 61730, solar modules must have a minimum 72-cell configuration, producing at least 300 Watts of output power. The testing of the modules must be done by the IEC or a recognized laboratory under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
