Solex Energy to execute the GoI’s flagship apprentice program under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Skill India Mission, at its module manufacturing facility at Surat.
As part of the expansion of their 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Surat, Solex Energy Limited, headquartered in Gujarat, is all set towards driving the national apprenticeship promotion scheme (NAPS).
Under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s Skill India Mission, the Government of India established an apprenticeship competency portfolio called NAPS in August 2016. It provides financial incentives, technology, and advocacy support to encourage apprenticeships in the country.
It is envisioned that the company will utilize its new state-of-the-art facility that spreads across ten acres to incubate the technically trained and government-certified manpower. This skilled manpower will be responsible for implementing the company’s latest manufacturing technologies and high-quality modules for delivering enhanced performance and the industry’s best generation.
From the date of commencement of the new facility, Solex envisages training and bringing onboard more than 5000 candidates as part of the Skill India Mission.
Chetan Shah, Chairman and the Managing Director of Solex Energy Limited said, “The efforts are focused more on the community development and skill development in the state of Gujarat. These are aligned with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) corresponding to good quality education, training & higher employability rate resulting in the economic growth of the communities within the state”.
In order to serve PM Modi’s Make in India mission and Aatam Nirbhar Bharat drive, Solex plans on developing numerous government-link development plans in the near future.
