SJVN wins 90 MW floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh
SJVN baaged the floating solar project in a tender held by REWA Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), quoting a price of INR 3.26 /unit .
SJVN’s Chairman and Managing Director, Nand Lal Sharma, announced that the company has won a 90 MW floating solar project on Build Own and Operate basis in Madhya Pradesh. SJVN baaged the project in a tender held by REWA Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), quoting a price of INR 3.26 /unit .
SJVN will build this project at Omkareshwar, in District Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, India’s largest floating solar park. The estimated cost of developing this project is Rs 585 crores.
The project is expected to generate 219 million units in the first year and 5158 million units during its life period of 25 years, post commissioning. There will be a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between RUMSL & SJVN. After signing the PPA, the project is to be commissioned within 15 months.
In his remarks, Nand Lal Sharma stated that this is the largest float project won in tariff-based competitive bidding. As a result of the commissioning of this project, 2,52,737 Tonnes of carbon emission is expected to be reduced. SJVN is working actively to make India a carbon-neutral nation by 2070.”
Having a portfolio of 31000MW, SJVN’s portfolio as of now contains 19 solar projects with a combined capacity of 3.3GW that are currently operating &/or under various stages of development.
As a result of these new additions, the company is on the right track towards achieving its Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023, 25000 MW by 2030, and 50000 MW by 2040.
