Huawei wins the World’s Largest Energy Storage Project Contract

Huawei Digital Power signed a key contract with SEPCOIII to build a 400 MW PV plant plus a 1300 MWh battery energy storage system.

Huawei Digital Power held the Global Digital Power Summit 2021 in Dubai, UAE, that concluded on October 16, 2021. The summit saw the participation of more than 500 participants from 67 countries.

Huawei Digital Power, has been engaged in researching and developing energy storage systems for more than 10 years. The company has developed more than 8 GWh of energy storage systems.

On the occasion of the summit, Huawei Digital Power signed a key contract with SEPCOIII to build a 400 MW PV plant plus a 1300 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The two parties will work together to help Saudi Arabia create a global center for clean energy and the green economy.

The 1300 MWh off-grid energy storage project represents a milestone for the global energy storage industry as the largest of its kind in the world.

The Red Sea Project has been listed as a key project in Saudi Vision 2030. ACWA Power is the developer, and SEPCOIII is the EPC contractor for the project.

In addition to being on the Red Sea coast, NEOM is also known as the city of the future. It is entirely powered by renewable energy. In an era when resources such as oil are depleting, this will lead to a new way of life while driving economic growth.

Integrating digital information technology with PV and energy storage technologies, Huawei Digital Power is committed towards building a more efficient, stable, and safe smart string energy storage system.

Through string, intelligent, and modular designs, the company aims to help make PV the main energy source so as to build a greener and promising future.
