A 33/11 KV GIS Substation and RT-DAS Control System inaugurated at Dehradun

The project was set up under the Government’s IPDS scheme for which the nodal agency is Power Finance Corporation


Under the Government of India’s IPDS scheme, a GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) substation and RT-DAS (Real Time Data Acquisition System) control system were inaugurated at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. A nodal agency for the IPDS scheme is Power Finance Corporation (PFC).

This opening ceremony was organized to commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ of 75 years of India’s independence.

Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Minister of Energy and Alternative Energy, Uttarakhand, inaugurated the project. On the occasion, Mrs. Sowjanya, Secretary (Energy & Alternative Energy), Mr. Deepak Rawat, MD, UPCL, and Mr. Saurabh Kumar Shah, ED (IPDS), PFC were also present.

More than 5000 people in Dehradun and its surrounding areas will benefit from the GIS substation, which has been approved at a cost of INR .85.99 crore. At a cost of Rs.4.28 crore, the RT-DAS is also approved for the automatic monitoring of power supply.

The substation will reduce power outages and land requirements, reduce operation and maintenance costs, and create a safer and more convenient work environment.
