To develop a green hydrogen facility, ACME signs land deal in Oman
ACME Group to develop green hydrogen and green ammonia facility in Oman with a planned investment of $3.5 billion.
The Gurugram-based Acme Group will be setting up a green hydrogen and green ammonia facility in Oman’s Special Economic Zone at Port of Duqm.
In an announcement made on Monday, ACME said that the company has signed a land reservation agreement for the development of the plant.
The agreement was signed with The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, the government authority in Oman, the release added.
Manoj K Upadhyay, founder, and chairman of ACME Group stated that the the company can start pre-construction activities with the signing of the agreement. He further added that the construction will begin immediately after the commissioning of the company’s first green hydrogen and green ammonia plant in Bikaner.
In Bikaner, India, the company is in the midst of commissioning the world’s first integrated green hydrogen and a green ammonia plant.
According to the company release, the Oman plant would be an integrated facility that would create 2400 TPD of green ammonia with an annual production of around 0.9 million tons using a total of 3 GW of solar and 0.5 GW of wind.
The company press release further states that about 3.5 billion dollars will be invested in the project, which will export green ammonia to demand centers such as Europe and Asia. Phased development will be undertaken for the Oman plant and the facility will be operational by 2022.
The solar portfolio of ACME Group is 6 GW, of which the company currently holds a portfolio of 5.25 GW, including 2.2 GW of operational capacity and 3.05 GW under construction.
