NHPC floated an EPC tender for 600 MW solar project in Rajasthan
NHPC invites EPC bids for 600MW solar projects in Rajasthan, the last dates for bids submission are – August 31, 2021 (online), while -September 6, 2021 (offline).
The NHPC has invited bids from EPC contractors for the construction of a 600 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar photovoltaic project in Rajasthan.
The development of the project is to take place in the village of Deora in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
The state-owned hydroelectric company already has the land in Deora, Jaisalmer, for the project. For the development of the project, the company will acquire the land on a long-term lease basis.
In addition to EPC services, the winning bidder will also be responsible for ten years of operation and maintenance. An 18-month deadline has been set for the completion of the project from the date the award was made.
Bid Submission Deadline:
- By August 31, 2021, bids must be submitted online. By September 6, 2021, bids must be submitted offline.
- On July 28, there will be a pre-bid meeting, and the bids will be opened on September 8.
Other Eligibility Requirements:
- To qualify for the tender, bidders must have completed a total of 100 MW of solar energy projects, including ground-mounted, rooftop, and floating projects on an EPC basis as contractors or developers before the deadline.
- A bidder must also have experience of completing at least one project of 50 MW at one location. Moreover, at least one solar power project with a minimum 50 MW capacity must have been operated and maintained for at least six months by the bidder.
Financial Eligibility Details:
- In the preceding three years, the bidding company should also have generated average annual revenue of more than INR18 billion.
- In addition, the net worth of bidders needs to be positive over three out of the prior five years.
- A minimum working capital of INR 3 billion is also required for bidders to participate in the bidding process.
In June 2020, NHPC diversified from hydropower generation to development of solar projects. It announced it would be acting as an intermediary for solar developers.
