JinkoSolar’s subsidiary to invest RMB 315 million in a polysilicon production line

JinkoSolar’s subsidiary will invest RMB 315 million in the building of a 100,000-tonne-per-year capacity high-purity polysilicon production line.

JinkoSolar, one of the world’s largest solar module manufacturers, has announced its plans to invest RMB 315 million in Inner Mongolia Xinte Silicon Materials Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xinte Energy Co, through its subsidiary Shangrao JinkoSolar Industry Development Co Ltd in order to raise its capital and shareholdings.

As per the statement released by the company, the funds will be used towards the construction of a high-purity polysilicon production line with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes. The statement further stated that post completion of the capital increase, the JinkoSolar subsidiary company will own a 9% stake in Inner Mongolia Xinte.

Mr. Kangping Chen, CEO of JinkoSolar Co., Ltd., commented, “Xinte Energy is a leader in polysilicon technology and industrialized operations. We are very pleased to extend this close partnership with them.”

He went on to say that the company is “completely confident” in the PV industry’s accelerated expansion in the next few years and that the current investment is not only a “solid” growth plan but will also help to stabilize silicon material supply and reduce supply chain volatility.

Chen further stated that “By cooperating with upstream specialized manufacturers, we will continue to strengthen the advantages of our integrated capacity and solidify the foundation for mass production of high-efficiency modules year-over-year.”

“We will continuously work towards win-win situations through deeper cooperation with our supply chain partners, and jointly promote the development of the global solar market and accelerate the transformation of green energy”, he added…
