SOLEX and JINCHEN Signs an MOU for 1.2 GW High-End PV Module Production Line

SOLEX ENERGY LIMITED and JINCHEN MACHINERY have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a 1.2 GW PV High-End Module Production Line.


Solex Energy Ltd has taken the final step in achieving its pledge towards setting up of 1.2 GW of solar PV module manufacturing facility in India under its ‘Make in India’ commitment.

Solex Energy has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jinchen Machinery Co. Ltd.  China for a 1.2 GW of High-End PV Module Production Line. Both parties have virtually signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

This ambitious project was launched in October 2020 by Solex with a groundbreaking ceremony at its manufacturing site near Surat, Gujarat. The factory is in the advanced stage of completion. According to the official statement released, the first 600 MW phase will be completed by October 2021, and development on the second 600 MW phase will begin as soon as the first phase is completed.

The upcoming facility will be a fully automated production line capable of producing modules with Microgap Technology up to M12/G12 multi-busbar solar cells.

Unique Virtual MoU Signing ceremony was attended by Adam Ge – Chief Operating Officer, Jack Wang- Vice President – Sales, Edward Yin – Vice General Manager – International Sales and Vikas Singh, Deputy Director – Sales & Marketing from Jinchen side. From Solex Side Kalpesh Patel, Managing Director and other promoters Anil Rathi, Vipul Shah, and Piyush Chandak were present.

Solex is one of the oldest PV module manufacturers in India having a manufacturing plant at Anand, Gujarat since 2007 and Listed on National Stock Exchange.

The company is also engaged in providing turnkey solar solutions across different segments like solar power plants, solar water pumps, and utility-scale ground-mounted solar power plants.

Solex Energy plans to go for backward integration by putting up a 1 GW Solar Cell manufacturing line in coming years.
